- The chief factor that makes us who we are is our belief in Jesus Christ, the only Son of the only God (John 1:14)
- Because Jesus has saved us from the punishment our sin deserves, we gather every Sunday to celebrate and remember (John 3:16)
- We busy ourselves doing what Jesus wants us to do, focusing on what the Bible says (Matthew 28:19)
- We pattern our church after the church in the New Testament, established by the apostles Jesus himself chose (Colossians 1:18)
- We have chosen a name out of the Bible – “The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch” (Acts 11:26)
- We select elders who love our Lord Jesus to lead us, and we answer to no outside denominational authority – we are part of the independent fellowship of the Christian Churches and Churches of Christ
